P.D.L.E.S. Services for participants and estimated fee structure
Any individual who is a Canadian Permanent Resident, Naturalized Citizen or with valid Protected Person Status (Approved Refugee Status) can contact P.D.L.E.S. for a free basic assessment. Such request can be made via Online Web Form, Email or Telephone. This free and basic initial assessment may last 30 minutes to one hour and can be performed via in-person meeting, online web meeting or telephone (prior appointment is highly recommended).
If the individual passes the initial basic assessment, he/she can then formally register him/herself with the P.D.L.E.S. office for further detailed and specific assessment and guidance for a nominal fee of Can$125.
In this service, a designated professional related to the participant's occupation or licensing body will further assess and examine the credentials and other records for licensing program eligibility requirements.
A written opinion will be provided in 5 to 7 business days from the time all information is received from the participant after registration.
If in the P.D.L.E.S. Assessor's opinion the participant is eligible to apply for the program and the participant wishes to continue to proceed with the licensing process, then the participant may register for the next service level for comprehensive assistance from P.D.L.E.S. professional staff. A tailored Bridge Training Path will be formulated for the participant outlining all required steps and specific assistance to complete the licensing process.
Bridge Training Program Path
In this service level following areas will be covered on a case-to-case basis:
The P.D.L.E.S. Bridge Training Program related to Licensed Occupation will address the identified gaps through various assessment factors including but not limited to the following:
Other services may also include an arrangement for WES or communication with designated educational institutions for admissions and registrations if required.
The total P.D.L.E.S. cost of this service is estimated at Can$1250–1900 per participant. This cost does not include any WES fees or third party/partner organization offering other diploma or degree programs.
Participants will be billed for specific services and may not have to pay the full estimated fee.
Another benefit of this program is that P.D.L.E.S. Staff will be representing the participant before the regulatory body or any third party to make a required arrangement, which will allow the participant to continue with his regular work schedule or life during the licensing process.
Alternate career arrangements.
If for any reason there is a delay in completing the licensing or required certification to adopt the regulatory occupation/job, P.D.L.E.S. will work with the participant on his/her request to find an alternate career which could be similar to their current occupation or skills but may not require a license. In this service, P.D.L.E.S. will be working with the participants who have signed up for Bridge Training Program Path to connect with eligible employers in Ontario, and there will be an additional service fee of only Can$50 for this program.
